Philippe Naddef gained his first experience and ultimately his passion for winegrowing and winemaking during the 3 years he spent working for the “Domaine de Vogue” in Chambolle Musigny.
In 1983 he became owner of 2.5 hectares of Gevrey Chambertin which was previously part of an estate originally created by his grandfather.
Over the years the estate has increased in importance to include terroirs in Fixin and Marsannay, today 14 different appellations are produced.
Philippe, Anne-Marie, his wife and their son Michel, work 6 hectares of vines, respecting the vegetation by giving a lot of importance to manual work on the plot. Reasoned control is practiced by promoting the use of bio-control products in addition to prophylactic measures. No herbicides or chemical fertilizers are used. Grassing and plowing are privileged and this with the greatest respect for the soil. To optimize the maturity of the grapes and limit the use of phytosanitary products, the vines are stripped manually and a green harvest is carried out if the yields seem too high. The harvest is entirely manual and, if necessary, sorting is done in the vineyard. From the management of the vines, to the manual harvesting to bottling, with a constant concern for quality, it is a whole work of patience and passion that is carried out.
